MARITIME VA
About Kathy
If it wasn't for a childhood fascination with ships, I might never have found my ultimate passion.
I've been passionate about ships since we moved to the seaside when I was 10. They're also in my blood as my father was in the British Royal Navy. Our house on the water was right next door to a small marina. We owned two small cabin cruisers, and I spent a lot of time on the water in one or the other. I also spent many enjoyable hours at the marina, taking in all the sights and sounds of shipbuilding and ship repair, while talking to the many fishermen and sailors who came in to the marina to have their vessels repaired. Little did I know, I was sewing the seeds of my passion that I would realize decades later.
I've been privileged to work with such leaders in their fields as world-renowned maritime archaeologist James Delgado, underwater cinematographer Evan Kovacs, side scan sonar expert Vince Capone, and BC electric ferry visionary, Callum Campbell. These are just a few of the organizations I've supported in a variety of roles.
When I'm not busy helping marine companies, I host the Fascinated by Shipwrecks podcast.
